Yes, you must bring and wear your own face mask while you’re at the test center and throughout your exam. A surgical or cloth face mask, including a homemade face mask, is acceptable as long as your nose and mouth are fully covered. Face masks with exhalation valves and face shields are not acceptable. We are unable to provide face masks to candidates. Candidates without a face mask will be denied testing services. You will be asked to briefly remove the mask during the check-in process to take the required candidate photo. See country-specific face mask exceptions for the United Kingdom.

If you are impacted by a test center closure, you will receive an email with information on how to reschedule your exam.

Friendly tip: Be sure to keep your email address up to date in your account profile and don’t forget to list us as an approved sender!

Some test centers in the United States are extending their hours to be open nearly 24 hours a day. When you schedule your exam, be sure to note whether you’ve chosen a.m. or p.m. (e.g., 12:00 a.m. midnight or 12:00 p.m. midday).

It is your responsibility to ensure there are no travel restrictions in place for the location where you want to take your test. If you travel to test in another state or country with travel restrictions in place, you may be turned away.

These vary per testing program. You should receive an email or letter with authorization details. Don’t worry: our website will prevent you from scheduling outside of your eligibility window.

If you are not contacted by a proctor after ten minutes, please contact your program-specific customer service team.

If you experience a technical issue during your online proctored exam appointment and cannot resume your session after you have met with the greeter, Pearson VUE will automatically log a case on your behalf. Due to the current high demand for phone and live chat support, we ask for your patience by allowing 3-5 business days for our team to review the issue and contact you with appropriate next steps. You do not need to log a customer support case with Pearson VUE or with your unique certification program if you had met with the greeter.

Please read the system requirements for online proctoring (on your exam program’s homepage) very carefully before registering and complete a system check before test day. Contact your program-specific customer service team to troubleshoot any questions and reduce the likelihood of errors on test day.
