About Canada

map min - About Canada

Canada is a North American country consisting of ten provinces and three territories. Located in the northern part of the continent, it extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean. Canada is the world’s second-largest country by total area, and its common border with the United States is the world’s longest land border shared by the same two countries.
The country is officially bilingual and multicultural at the federal level, with a population of approximately 35 million as of 2013. Canada’s advanced economy is one of the largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed trade networks, especially in the United States, with which it has had a long and complex relationship.

Qualifications Valued Around the World

Canada’s high academic standards and rigorous quality controls mean that you’ll be earning a high-quality education that will open doors for your future and benefit your career over the long term. A Canadian degree, diploma or certificate is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States or Commonwealth countries.

Affordable Education

The quality of education and living standards in Canada are amongst the highest in the world, but the cost of living and tuition fees for international students are generally lower than in other countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom. As such, Canada is often the preferred choice for students attending college or university.

Multicultural Society

With almost all of the world’s ethnic groups represented in Canada, it’s hard not to find ethnic foods and recreation activities associated with specific cultures. In fact, your international student advisor can help you get in touch with any number of ethnic clubs and associations for you to join while you’re here.

Healthy and Safe Communities

While you may have heard of or experienced Canadians’ friendly and open nature, you may not have known that the United Nations consistently ranks Canada as one of the best places in the world to live. As an international student in Canada, you’ll enjoy all of the same freedoms which protect Canadians – respect for human rights, equality, and a stable and peaceful society.

World-class Language Education

Did you know that Canada is a bilingual country and is considered a world leader in language training? Since teaching French and English as a first and second language is an integral part of a Canadian education, you will be able to improve your fluency and capacity for either language as you further your studies.

Exciting Campus Lifestyle

Canada’s post-secondary campuses aren’t only wired with the latest in sophisticated technology, but countless other modern amenities as well. From Olympic-quality sports facilities to public concert halls and art galleries, Canada’s post-secondary campuses offer you enormous possibilities for learning and leisure. Plus, you’ll have incredible opportunities to meet like-minded individuals and gain valuable experience through student-run governments, radio, newspapers and businesses.

Innovative and Abundant Research Opportunities

Since research is one of the key components of a Canadian post-secondary education, you’ll have ample opportunity to become a part of this vibrant aspect of education. In Canada, the government and industry together support research including: telecommunications, medicine, agriculture, computer technology, and environmental science.

Work While Study

The option to work while studying is one of the decision-making criteria for prospective international students finalizing their education destination. International students enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program at a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) can work up to 20 hours per week during school terms and full-time (30+ hours/week) during scheduled breaks, such as the summer holidays. Most students don’t need a work permit to work while they study, whether their job is on-campus or off-campus.

Work on-campus:

Students can only start working in Canada when they start their study program which lists a condition that says you’re allowed to work on- or off-campus.

“On-campus” means students can work at all the buildings on their College campus. If Colleges have more than one campus, they may only work at the campus where they are studying in most cases.

Post Study Work Permit

  • Students can start their new program within 150 calendar days of receiving the confirmation of previous program completion.
  • Students can receive up to 1 year Work Permit if they apply for a 1 year course.
  • Students can receive up to 3 year Work Permit if they apply for 2 or 4 year courses.

Possibility of Immigration

Did you know that some international students with Canadian credentials and Canadian work experience may apply for permanent residency without having to leave Canada? For more information about the possibility of immigration to Canada once your schooling is complete, please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

Work Options

Yes, till IRCC guidelines are concerns student need to have 14 days compulsory Quarantine plane before reaching Canada

In this COVID-19 Pandemic is it compulsory to do health checkups at the airport if there are no symptoms?

According to travel rules if the students do not have any symptoms of CoronaVirus still they are supposed to have a health check up at Airports compulsorily.

The Immigration Officer won’t allow travelling and can depot any student without having 14 days Quarantine plane and they can cross verify for the same.

Yes, there are two stage visa processes under which students can submit their visa file without Medical, Biometrics. In stage one, students can get Approval In Principle (AIP) with it and students can start their study online from India. In the 2nd stage, students need to do Biometric, Medical and Visa stamping from VFS.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has confirmed that international students can study online outside Canada without an approved study permit. However, the time spent studying online outside of Canada will not count towards your eligibility or length for the post-graduation work permit (PGWP).

IRCC has confirmed that if you have a valid study permit, or been for a study permit for a program starting in the spring, summer or fall, or have applied for a study permit before September 15, 2020, but you can’t travel to Canada at this time due to travel restrictions, your eligibility for the PGWP will not be affected.

If you’re in this situation, you may:

begin your classes while outside Canada, and

complete up to 50% of your program while outside Canada, if you can’t travel to Canada sooner.

If you start your studies in fall 2020, you won’t have time deducted from the length of your future post-graduation work permit for studies you complete while outside Canada up to December 31, 2020.

I dropped out of university in USA due to COVID – 19. Later in 2021, I decided to apply for further education in Canada. Given my dropout scene, it is difficult to get a visa approval. Fortunately, I met the right team who helped me score an 8.5 on the IELTS, secure admission in one of the renowned colleges in Toronto, Seneca College, and prepared the best profile for visa. The ESPI team, especially Shweta ma’am, Jalpa ma’am and Deepak sir, were always available to guide me through the entire procedure, from filling the college application forms to completing the post-visa formalities. The team is extremely skilled and I never had to stress over anything. They got everything covered. They were with me every step of the way. I am grateful to them and couldn’t have done it without them. I have my highest recommendations for the ESPI Vadodara team.
